What to Expect

Your First Visit

Patient Forms

Upon entering our office we will request you fill out our new patient intake form located in the New Patient Center.  The paperwork provides us with general information about yourself and your condition.

Case History

All new chiropractic patients begin their care with a consultation by the doctor.  During the consultation the patient’s health problem is discussed and the doctor decides if the patient has a condition that chiropractic can help.

Examination

After your consultation, the doctor will perform a complete chiropractic examination testing your reflexes, your ability to turn and bend as well as other standard neurologic, orthopedic, postural, and physical examinations.

X-Ray Studies

X-rays are only taken when necessary.  Some conditions may require us to take x-rays for further evaluation of your condition to develop a more effective treatment plan for you.

Report of Findings

Once all the information and examinations have been performed, the doctor will give you a report of findings to answer the three most popular questions:

  1. Can you help me?
  2. What do you recommend I do to get better?
  3. How much is it going to cost?

After discussing with your history and your goals, examining your spine and reviewing any x-rays or tests, the doctor will discuss recommendations with you.  If you have a condition that requires care with other providers, the doctor will tell you.

Treatment

A spinal adjustment is probably the most important aspect of chiropractic care.  The doctor uses various adjustment techniques to realign the spine and restore function to the nervous system. Treatment may also include physical therapies and/or soft tissue therapies.

Chiropractic care is usually given as a series of treatments lasting from a few weeks to several months.  The doctor monitors the patients progress during each treatment and performs progress evaluations at regular intervals during the treatment schedule.
